Shorthorn Cows - Alberta Canada

Foundation Matrons

Although these cows are no longer walking our pastures, their impact on our herd has been significant.  Anything that is built to last starts with a strong foundation.

Sharom Wixie 136W

The Wixie family originates from a purchase at the 4's Company Sale in December 2006.  That cow was Lazy HJ Pat Belle 6R.  Her granddaughter is Sharom Wixie 136W.  Her pedigree contains great prefixes such as Six S, Paintearth, Lazy HJ and Winalot, all long time breeders in Alberta.  The Wixie cow family has been a solid producing lineage in our herd with females being kept as replacements still today.  Granddaughters of this line have been sold at the 4's Company Sale and are in production in other purebred herds.

Matlock Sugar 31S

Sugar came to us through the Hill Country Classic Sale in October 2008. She comes from the well known Matlock herd in Lloydminster, Sask.  For a decade she walked the pastures of Sharom producing progeny that made a lasting impact on the herd.  To this day, daughters, granddaughters and great granddaughters are still working for us and other herds.

Paintearth Dee 47D

The All Star Classic Sale in 2016 is where we acquired Paintearth Dee. We purchased her for our son Evan.  Dee was always a docile cow with excellent maternal abilities.  She produced excellent bulls and heifers that have influenced both commercial and purebred herds.  The daughters we have retained should continue the legacy that Dee has started.
